Mackinac lilacs

This picture was taken in mid to late May last Spring on Mackinac Island. The lilacs were just starting to open

There are so many new varieties of flowering shrubs that lilacs are sometimes overlooked. I like daphne because they flower most of the summer but lilacs flower for two weeks and then give you something to look forward to the rest of the year :)

I planted one 3 years ago and Hope it will flower next year.

Yeah they can take a while to flower sometimes. I planted two new ones last year that are supposed to have blue flowers and I'm hoping those will flower this spring.
