He's so cute that I can hardly believe he could be aggressive. You spoiled him by giving him chocolate granola bars!? Lucky raccoon! Glad to hear he's now in the hands of the expert :)

They'll chase people, TM! They'll attack dogs! Some of my co-workers have gotten horrific raccoon bites. One of the raccoons tested positive for rabies and Chris had to go through the shots. Very expensive, about $3,000. Since the only way to verify whether an animal is rabid or not is to cut off the head and send the brain off for testing to the state lab, if an unvaccinated dog or cat is bitten the owner's options are limited. They can either keep their pet quarantined for 6 months or the animal has to be euthanized - state law. We had a rabid kitten at the shelter and somebody was bitten by a rabid bobcat a couple years back, so the disease is out there. I'm not as careful as I should be - I've had so many bites & scratches from feral cats but haven't really thought much of it since we're all so used to it.

Looks can be deceiving!! He looks very cute!! Sorry to hear about your colleague. $3,000 is a lot of money, and not nice being bitten. Double trouble :-(
