Many large branches broke from this tree...it almost looked like it might fall over in the very strong Santa Ana's. Photo taken Feb. 2, 2011.

Sixpence:
The winds died down by noon today (Feb. 3). This Santa Ana wind event was the worst in San Diego this year. We're suppose to have more winds by this coming Sunday...and it's suppose to be much warmer.

Lets hope it warms up for you over there, the trouble is over hear, that many trees in the countryside and sides of roads, they come down and kill falling and crushing cars while driving.

Sixpence:
We have the same danger here with Eucalyptus trees. They come crashing down on cars and people. In San Diego's Old Town all the large Eucalyptus trees were removed in 2003. Because in Jan. 2002 we had a severe Santa Wind event which killed a prominent lawyer (by a large falling Eucalyptus tree).
