This is some of the first flowers starting to open on one of my Red Ti leaf plants. Photo taken Jan. 29, 2011.

Yes, they can be quite beautiful. I have Cordyline stricta which is very commonly grown in CA. The flowers are in huge clusters of lavender to bright blue, depending on the plant.
