Thats nice, I don't think I've ever seen a white one.

I'm sure they will, Amy and all. :-)
I'm glad our predecessors planted this - I do prefer it to the pink one.

Love this white one....you're so much further on than us Spritz...mine's still tight little buds.

The shrub is in a sheltered area - maybe that's why?

Mine's been in full flower for a few weeks now. Ribes remind me of my childhood, I think my best friend had it in her garden.

A nice memory! :-)

The whole shrub looks wonderful at the moment. :-)

Can this shrub variety be accommodated in a small garden or does it get too large (more like a tree size)? I've just noticed today how many of the members have this in their gardens and I didn't recognize the name "Ribes" but now see it is a currant bush. On a steep learning curve...that's me! lol

Mine is a mature shrub, and although I do prune it, it's about 9' tall by about 8' wide. If your garden is very small, I'd say it would be too big - sorry. :-(

Yes, I agree, Spritz...much too big for the space I have available. I've also read on other blog posts today that the Sanguineum has a bit of a nasty whiff...another reason to not get it...and it is so pretty too.

I've never thought that, Whl. Mind you, this is at the back of the border, so I don't climb in and sniff it! ;-0

lol@ Spritz....it may be that your particular variety may not have a bad whiff....I read about it on another blog this week. It is such an attractive bush too :)

I do prefer the white one to the pink or red, I have to admit. Just as well our predecessors did too, isn't it! :-)

I love this. My ribes has no real signs of growth on it yet! Oh well, I'm sure it will soon be off and running with all the sunshine it's had today and yesterday!
