This one gets quite tall. I saw it growing at a nursery near us, and bought it as a division. They just dug it up put it in a black bag with it's name tied on, which is ok by me as it was half the price of the ones in pots.

Love a bargain, lucky you, do you have Inula Racemosa Helenium, another lovely tall one, trouble is it seeds everywhere here and takes some getting out if you don't get the seedlings while they're small, bit like my cephalaria gigantea which I love but another prolific seeder and if you leave a bit of root in its off again.

Bargains are the best, doesn't make you feel guilty spending, when there's a plant sale! I don't have either of those two plants you've mentioned, but they sound just like Persicaria 'Firecracker' it tends to do that too!

Thanks Michaella. It's just starting to appear now, it's pretty tough. The flowers are just so unusual.

It really is an interesting flower. The visible leaves are that of a fern growing underneath it.

Is this one Orientalis, did have it in my garden but one of those plants loved by the flippin rabbits, constantly digging it up, gave up in the end, lovely picture:-)
