This very sought after tree/shrub is still very expensive. However, the price has gone down a little bit. It used to cost $500.00 - $1,000.00 for a small sapling. The leaves are so gigantic on this tree you can use them as an umbrella. Photo taken at San Diego Botanical Gardens on Mar. 1, 2011.

Camillia:
It's very difficult to propagate. The fruits are sterile here. It's a native of New Guinea...and there's a wasp or type of bug there which pollinates the fruits, only in New Guinea. It's usually propagated by air-layering which isn't always successful.
