Daffs on roundabout near Tesco 07-03-2011 001

What a lovely show its lovely when they do the roundabouts up in some towns its the Masons who do it and have their design to show its them too.

To the best of my knowledge this is the only roundabout that has been planted by anyone else other than the local council.

Possibly the bulbs came from the council or perhaps Tesco donated them, I don't know. All I do know is that my wife came home 1 day & told me that the next Saturday Tesco staff had been invited to plant Daffodils on the roundabout.

That is lovely when they do the planting themselves, if you ever look carefully on round abouts they will have small board signs stuck in the grass amonst the flowers stating who sponsers the flowers on the round abouts.

Last year & this year I have been up quite close, up onto the pavement that goes round it but I haven't seen any signs. I want to take another close up this week as many more have opened since I took this photo.

There are great patches of Crocuses at one point around the ring road & these do have little signs saying they were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Huntingdon. I took many photos last year & I've taken some more this year. I'll upload a couple of photos.

Will look forward to you photos then here they also place long pots along the sides of the main roads on the rails full of all sorts of flowers come winter spirng summer and autum and large pots of flowers on the side s of the roads which the businesses contribute to .

In the summer we also see long flower containers & they put up hanging baskets all around town & the shops as as well. None of these are sponsored.

I've uploaded 3 photos of the Crocus beds I mentioned earlier plus another of this roundabout as well as one of some Primroses & another of crocuses in a garden I pass most days when I go to the allotment or have to go into town.

I checked a few days ago to see if there was any sponsorship details but I couldn't see anything. Knowing Tesco I'm surprised they didn't "shout it out to the 4 winds" that they had planted 100s of Daffs on the roundabout!

Tesco has now been taken over by the Polish perhaps thats why.
