Quite common around here, but not had one in the garden. Lovely birds

I do see them in the field Yorks but I get sparrows and the like in my garden, not quite as impressive...

I remember walking along the hedgerow of a field back home in Devon as a 9 year old & as I walked round a corner there was this unbelievably colourful bird with a long tail. All these years later I still remember the impact that had on me, such an exotic thing with metallic colours. It was as startled as I was & just froze so I got an excellent opportunity to get a detailed look at this pheasant before it recovered it's wits & scuttled off into the undergrowth. You did well to get the camera out in time Yorks.
