I'm standing next to a Bismarck Palm at San Diego Zoo Safari Park (formerly called: San Diego Wild Animal Park). This park is located about 45 minutes drive north-east of the San Diego Zoo, in the San Pasqual Valley. Photo taken March 8, 2011.

Hello Terratoonie:
Thanks. Yes, the SD Zoo Safari Park has many very interesting plantings. It's almost 3,000 acres much larger than the SD Zoo's 100 acres.

A grand palm Andy. I have been away from GOY for over a month now, so I'm going through your recent pictures. Some lovely plants as usual, it's good to get my fix of Californian sunshine and flora!

Thanks! Yes, Bismarck palm is a very large, dramatic palm. This is the reason why it's so popular, however, not a good palm for a small yard.
Glad you're back on GoY and enjoying the pics! :>)
The weather here has been pretty warm here over the last couple of months. Many plants/trees are blooming like crazy.
