Interesting when I used to show them i would often go around the show benches and pick 1st 2nd & 3rd and its surprising how often my choice was the judges 3rd choice (not necessarily my plants)
Its happened again your 1st is my 3rd

That is funny Brian.. That must have been a lot of fun.
So, which is your 1st and 2nd?

Alex the purple one 1st
the cream 2nd
That was fun doing that but more pressure when I was actually judging. Then the whole presentation kicks in from cleanliness of the pot to a deformed bloom to green fly on the plant, I have even down graded one for having a caterpillar chewing a leaf on the plant on the show bench, incorrect naming and pot sizes they are just for starters. It's a fussy buisness. I am glad i did it but not any more.Perhaps i should write a book or show off my awards from the RHS on second thoughts I am not going to .LOL

We like the same three just in different order. I would be a really sticked judge as well. If you are going to compete you better do it properly. Who knows Brian, maybe in a few years you will write your book....just so you know I want a signed copy. ;o)
