These were dug out of the woods nearby.

This is even more like my rambling rose that i am trying to find out about, although i purchased mine from a garden centre. The roses don't last long they always seem to flower when there is heavy rain or high winds that knocks all the petals off and then that is it for the rest of the year. I am left with fast growing greenery that i haven't a clue how to look after. Hope you can give me some advice. Regards Sue

I cut mine back after it blooms and usually once or twice again latter in the season. It sure is a climber Lori. I've seen these climb 40 feet up into trees. I've been seriously thinking about digging mine out. It's a lot of work for such a short lived flowering.

A truly wild rose!!! I have David Austen's book out of the library...think I'll take a peek... Is it Rosa rugosa 'Alba' by any chance... I see the buds are pinkish. hmmm.. I saw a bourbon "boule de neige' ...very double beautiful white... the leaves look too smooth to be a rugosa...is it a climber?
