This is the corner where we took a large fir tree down last autumn. Not finished yet, but progress so far ...

I hope so. Have to cement the bricks in front, and want to get a climbing rose and a Clematis. Waiting for my man to come and put me up some trellis.

Thanks Holly, I am thinking of putting different coloured Heuchera in front to give some colour through winter as well.

I really like this corner feature very much, Cinders. It is really coming along nicely and I think the heucheras will look really good at the front, as you plan. I'll be watching with interest to see how it changes and evolves.

Thanks J. My problem is that I have to wait for someone else to do some of the harder work now, before I can get on to do the planting. So the things that I would have done in a day or two now takes several weeks!!! But I am nearly there now if the weather holds. Nice to know you are interested.

You are just like me....I'm waiting for another quote for the harder work to be done after rejecting the quote from the first gardener....it was well outside our budget and very expensive!!
I just showed your brick corner photo to hubby as I've been trying to explain to him to do something similar if we don't have the patio extended a bit and shaped.
It exercises our patience when we have to wait...I know just what you mean, Cinders. Especially with all the lovely sunshine...it makes you feel you want to get out in the garden and get planting up. We're still left with the topsoil and have changed our minds about gravel and will revert back to our original plan of turf and shaped borders with a small gravel area and rockery. Just need it done.... yesterday! lol

J, the corner bed, with the blocks in front, is part of an oval shape. If you look on my photos page 11 it will give you an idea of how it looks, or on page 3 without the colour, in the snow.
Definitely want it done yesterday. Just been talking to my friend who helps me with things and he is coming on Monday if its fine, so might get a little bit more done.

Looking forward to seeing it later in summer.
