Roystonea oleracea - Caribbean Royal Palm

Roystonea oleracea - Caribbean Royal Palm (Roystonea oleracea - Caribbean Royal Palm)

Looking up a tall Caribbean Royal Palm at the San Diego Zoo. This is the tallest know species of Roystonea. There's reports of 180ft/55m tall trees in the tropics. It's very unlikely Caribbean Royal palms would ever grow to such heights here in Southern California. Photo taken March 26, 2011.

No. lol!

I'm a Zoological Society of San Diego member (I can go anytime it's open for the annual fee) . The San Diego Zoo is very close (less than a 10 minute drive) from my house, I go there a lot (any time I have free time).
