I do like this variety....the flower is quite compact, Olive. Do you know the variety of camelia? All the camelia's seem to be producing a wealth of beautiful blooms after our harsh winter. Some good news after all the plant losses :)

No flowers at all on any of my three Camellias.....all frosted or just not budded.....oh well....hopefully next year! I love Camellias sooooo much!

This has never had as many flowers on it, the white one next to it about 2/3ft away from it is so so damaged, it is struggling to get going, will need to cut it back hard as soon as it is finished flowering.

I had a camellia given to me last September and it is looking really sorry for itself (although it isn't to bloom until autumn). I have it in a pot but it is now just a long stem with about 3 leaves and a couple of hard, brown buds. I just don't know how to nudge it into recovery...any ideas, Olive?

I only know they like ericacious compost and that they flower in spring and that you prune them immediately after flowering. They do not like lime soil or compost. Hope that helps Whistonlass.

Yes, I know it was all planted up correctly by my friend who gifted the camellia to me. I will have to be patient, Olive, and see what happens over the next couple of months. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't come back :(
