Another lovely view Olive, what is the red shrub on the right, its looks very attractive.

When the new growth appears it is striped with pale pink and changes colour with time to be bronze/dark reddish it is a berberis (I think) not very good at plant names. Very thorny but well worth the place for it has lovely colour.

Yes, definitely a Berberis. I used to have one exactly like it at Hyndford Place...very prickly!
