yes its a magnolia its driving me mad as i cant remember the name lol....dont they do much gardening then....

just looked it up.. i think its magnolia stellata.....they had these down my local plant shop a while ago

Oh My G-d Holly. you would not believe it, thank goodness we have a fence and can't see to much of it, its a disgrace.our house is quite high up from theirs so we would have to go and look down over the fence, we try not to do that,

my neighbour on the left.. there garden is a mess as well, they only have grass and they have 2 rabbits that eat it all day...... the bloomin rabbits keep biting the fence and breaking bits off..... i have told them.. but people like that dont really care do they.........

no they don't care, him next door removed 25 garden pots last week from the top of his garage, been there since last summer, was driving us insane,

thats a funny place to keep pots....

had runner beans up there last year also,

looks very nice - just needs abit of TLC in his garden and it will be nice - can't understand why some people don't enjoy it - looks like a nice bamboo or something there too

I suppose you all would be horrified if you saw my place.....I have let most of it go to meadow and woods in back. I don't believe in manicuring everything - number one I don't have the time, number two I like to leave a good amount of space for wildlife.

breaks my heart to see this magnolia standing in the wilderness, far to big to dig up, they have a large fish pond in the garden somewhere, no they can't see it from the window, built a conservatory 15 years ago in front of the window, now its full of trees,

Yorkshire, I will peep through my fence and take a photo of my neighbor's property. I promise you that you will be glad that this is your view! Trash and broken-down cars all over, just a mess.

Lovely magnolia and bamboo. I could understand if the garden belonged to an elderly person who may not be able to cope with the work. I certainly don't understand why people let their gardens become dumping grounds for rubbish or old cars left to rust. I do believe that people who are capable of work but are on benefits should be used to make our communities a better place to live in and could do this work of tidying up and also rebuilding our stone walls in the countryside keeping our heritage going, hence learning an old skill.

I agree, Linda. Here we have a tremendous number of people getting disability benefits. The state of Georgia must have a pretty liberal definition of "disabled" because I have never seen so many so-called disabled people in my life. These are people who are young and healthy enough looking and yet they are getting my taxes, which - because I'm a single person with no dependents & therefore have so much money that I can afford to pay for everybody else (insert sarcastic expression here) - keep going up and up and up. Seriously, 30% of the people I meet in this county claim to be disabled and incapable of any work at all. I had a tenant who said she could not work, well, she could move pretty darn fast when she wanted to. There was no reason why she couldn't just sit in an office and type stuff, you know? Of course, now, we have people standing on the roadsides with signs saying "Will take any kind of work" so good luck finding the slackers anything to do.

I agree totally with what you both say, my neighbours garden was a dream when he first moved in, the previous occuier had it landscaped, it took your breath away to see it, now we have this mess instead, my neighbour is only early 50's far from old, just damn lazy, he told my OH he sat in the garden all day saturday doing nothing, that really made me cross, Lauram its the same here people to lazy to work, my argument also, if they can't or have difficulty walking no reason why they can't get a sit down job,

community spirit seems to have flown out of the window. Some people are only out for what they can get. WHen we ere young life was tough and folks were grateful for any work that they could get to bring the money home to feed the family, but today some people want everything in 5 minutes and get into debt, not worrying about it. WHen we were first married we hardly had anything but gradually built up what we had but made sure that we paid as we could afford to. The basis of our relationship was we loved and respected each other for who we were and not what we owned.
