This is a lovely colour and I assume it is in bloom now?

Lovely....

All three are charming, we do not have any of the Alpina varieties any more, really must get some.

Thanks. You should, Dd. They're so welcome being so early. :-)

Yes, Whl - my alpinas are all in flower now. I have two more - I couldn't take photos yesterday in that gale!

Yes, many had strong winds to contend with yesterday...it has turned quite bright here today (this afternoon) after a rainy morning but we have all the grandkids here today so there's just chaos and no gardening hapening here! lol

The alpines are lovely with their delicate blooms.

I was a bit upset, Whl - most of the Narcissi and some tulips were 'scorched' and ruined by the strong wind. Such a shame when they were at their best. :-(

The clems were all OK, though! :-) I'm sure you had a happy time.

Sorry about your narcissi and tulips...they do get battered by the winds and rain unfortunately :( I suppose with the clems it's a case of giving them good support to grow on and they will perform wonderfully :)

I feed them all in early spring. The alpinas seem happy to cling on once they've got going, with no help from me.

That's a lovely one!

Thanks, K. Do you grow alpinas?

7 Apr, 2011

I do but only 4. I don't like the fact that you can't prune them!

7 Apr, 2011

Do the alpinas stay in leaf throughout the year? And do they have any scent? Ta.

9 Apr, 2011

No, they're deciduous, Whl. However, if you're lucky, you often get a second set of flowers later in the year! I don't think they have any scent. Not many Clems do.

No, but C.chisanesis 'love child' has scent, and it flowers from early May to end of July like it's life depends on it! It has beautiful double lemon yellow flowers J. I'm always banging on about it, because I have one in full shade and it's one of my favourite plants!

I don't know that one, K. (Luckily!)

Oh, it's a real treasure...photos of it on my pages...here it is on Taylor's website....

go on, i dare you! ;)

14 Apr, 2011

You are so mean to me....I'll have to, now! What happens if I fall for it, then? :-O

14 Apr, 2011

Haha - it's out of stock - that gets me off the hook! lol.

14 Apr, 2011

Would you like me to try a cutting or two? Don't bother to answer that, I'll just do it! :))

:-) x
