Oh I love these birds...as with many birds the females differ in colour from the males...but in the case of the cardinal, I quite like the colour of the females...very bronzy... with a reddish orange beak...understatement is the height of good taste! lol.

I very seldom see the females Lori. I've only seen them together a couple times in the garden.

Thanks Mike been told by an Aunt in North Carolina how pretty these birds are - really colourful.Oh my camera does the same if I use zoom so I avoid it on camera and crop and enlarge on computer.This seems to ensure much clearer results and how that pic of damselfly stayed sharp when enlarged.
