Just found this picture, Sandra. Is this the lovely fungi growing on a fallen tree just as you walk down from the car park towards the castle/gardens? If so, this is the same fungi as in my signature picture :-) small world....!!

small world indeed sid.
we had the pleasure of staying in our van at powis castle over night.
the deer didn't show their faces till after closing time.
it was a very special surprise when we saw them come down out of the woods into the clearing.
