Thank you both. Shame the sun's gone now, so I'll give the camera a rest.

Are you feeling a bit down Sheila?

Not really Karen (you are sweet!) - just meant that seeing flowers in the sunshine makes me smile. :)

But NOW I need cheering up - have been gently weeding and sowing seeds all day (OH out for the day), took my favourite purple cow parsley (Anthriscus ravenswing) and tore the packet open not realising that the other end was already open! :(( Not one seed could I see on the grass, but I managed to laugh!
Time for a cuppa, biscuit and the crossword . . . (and before anyone says it, NO, I didn't say a cross word lol).

oh no! thats not good ~ could you throw some compost over the top and hope that they will seed themselves in the grass??

Nice idea Sticki. OH dislikes the daffs in the grass because he has to mow round them, so he would be aghast . . . but it might be fun to try, and see if he notices!

might happen anyway!! you could blame the birds for dropping the seeds??
can you get more?
i have seen some gardens where the grass is cut short for the lawn but left longer for daffs and wild flowers in other parts ~ can look effective?
the only other option is you dig them up when they finally appear and then there will be holes in the lawn!!! he might have more to say then!!

Brilliant Sticki - blame the birds!!
Luckily I already have one in the "teardrop" bed (where the cowslips are taking over), and I think I can see a couple of seedlings there. Probably serves me right for being greedy!
