This was a nice surprise today!
Went to tidy up the dead foliage and found it in bloom!!!

Karen - it's I.japonica, a separate species which despite it's name is native to China. I believe that I.ensata is a borderline bog plant whereas this requires free draining soil. This is as hardy as hell too!
