pansies in my new garden

pansies in my new garden

some of the five troughs of pansies bought September 2010 and still going strong-ish in April 2011 (The cigarette packet is a free gift from someone upstairs who can't afford to buy a rubbish bin)

Pansies and violas have done well this year ...
yes.. a pity your neighbour can't be more considerate ...

I've not been dead-heading them (I can't get down that close to them on a regular basis) or they'd be an even better display.

i'm surprised that they survived the sudden snow we had early this year; a lot of my other plants didn't. I had my indoor plants outside as well, since I don't have the furniture assembled yet to put them on - spider plants do *not* like snow! hoping that the remnants will survive on the windowsill

I didn't notice the "ornament" until I'd uploaded the picture to my pc and was then able to see it large and up close; then I thought, what's that? and went out to look. this is not the first or even the fifth time that I've found similar free gifts - I wish they'd buy cigarettes in 20s, then there'd be half as many empties in my garden!

since then I've collected several more packs, all 10's,a sealed pack of Tesco spiced ham [I opened it and left it to see if anything wanted it, but they all had more sense!], and an empty diet lemonade bottle. I'm going to put a note by the doors asking whoever's doing it to save up and buy a bin. shee, in these days of free plastic carrier bags ...

Not fair that you have to deal with the rubbish.. especially when you can't bend down easily ... explain in the note that it is difficult for you to stoop over to pick up the trash....

nods, good thought, i'll add taht to the note, but - anyone so un-neighbourly as to throw rubbish out of a window isn't likely to care too much about causing someone else more probs

lol wonder if i can use this to get the council to roof the space over for me as a health and safety measure? it could be the kitchen sink coming down next time!
