Can't wait to get them in the garden!

finally got mine planted this week - sunflowers and prairie sage. I didn't have a good spot in the house so I put the pots in an unused dog kennel and stuck it outside where they'd get some sun but be protected from the birds. I hope that works.

Thanks, Helen :)
Good luck, Laura! :)

All of the sunflowers have germinated - including the Lemon Queen recommended by Helenium! Still waiting on the prairie sage but I know not every seed germinates as fast as sunflowers do.

Sounds like a bumper seed crop so far, Lauram! Hope the Sage is as successful! Good Luck with them all!

I suspect my Lemon Queen is not your Lemon Queen though! Apparently there are TWO LQ sunflowers....one is a hybrid of 2 midwestern species and is a perennial, the other is a variety of H. annuus & is an annual. I was confused because it was described as an annual on some websites and a perennial on others. Anyway, it doesn't matter, I am looking forward to having flowers all summer!!

Aww that's a shame, I never knew there were two! Well it will be interesting to see what they turn out like!

I looked online and it seems there's a lot of confusion! Why would they name both LQ?? Silly, silly!

There are lots of that going on Laura, some companies change things to suit, if they don't like the original name of a flower!
