damn neighbours,

ive only got a backyard and my neighbour has them in her yard , so of course they keep springing up everywhere, do like the colour though

They are a nightmare to get out too the roots go down and down what a shame, shame you could nt put a weed killer down there is one you can use if you have plants that are brown wooded.

Mine have done really well this year!

yes the colour is very nice vivid yellow Ann, lol yorkshire that's what i say when there's a cloud of seed coming over the fence... most are in the lawn sixpence so i have to dig them out, yes mine have done well too Meanie i even found one growing in the pond..

There is a tool that you just push down and it extracts it out of the lawn also a new one just come on to the market where it has a long handle and you press it down with foot and it extracts all weeds

You'll love my fail safe method! Just chop the top off and put a few drops of bleach down the exposed heart. Instant death. A few drops mind, and never near anything precious. Only in dry weather too.

That's the trouble with gardening books - they always seem to assume that you live miles from anyone else, that you can create a garden in total isolation. Especially when the plans show trees planted right up against the fence - they never seem to have neighbours who might have a thing or two to say about it.

What I was going to do with my garden (till I found out the beds weren't deep enough to use ) was to dig a trench right up against the fence and line it with strong plastic sacks, or sheeting if I could get any, then extend the sack up a few inches and tie to the bottom of the fence, hopefully creating a "no-creep" barrier. then I could wreak havoc on the weeds in my garden, and then I'd "only" have windblown seeds to worry about.

As I never got around to trying it, I don't know if that would have worked. but anything that slows them down, even if it doesn't stop them, would have been handy.

Yes that would have been a good idea, my old house i was in had a problem with cooch grass, so i buried metal sheets down a foot and a half and that did the trick... but here the dandelion seeds blow over by the millions...
