Having failed so many times to grow this from seed I bought one yesterday!
It was reduced from £30 to £15 as the bloom was over.
I put it on the garden chair to give an idea of the size of it.

6d - this is a means to an end. I'll hand pollinate the next flower, then collect and sow the seeds. I'm led to believe that they have to be very fresh for reliable germination.

Well I can assure you mine has germinated but only tiny I bought them 2 years ago and only planted them last year it took 8 month s for them to germinate. I wish you every success with them as I won't be here to see them which is a shame.

So is this going in your garden room? No luck with my seeds either.

Alex - yes, it's in the garden room. Both of my yellow Cymbidium orchids are now outdoors to make room for it!!
Terra - quality! I thought that you were joking!! Could also have gone under 1; knackered fence ideas, 2; cat repellent ideas (the bamboo canes in the bed) or 3; there's that bloody trowel that I was looking for!!!!

I was tempted to add to "Hand Tools" ..
couldn't find GoYpedia "Bats" ;o)

Not a bad price over here Delonix!
Plus it has four offsets too.

Meanie:
Yes, very good price.
It's amazing it looks so well...this plant is very tropical. It prefers shady, very hot and humid conditions.

Sounds like my conservatory then!

Meanie:
Has it been growing outside?
22 May, 2011
Not whilst I've had it, so no would be a safe bet.

Meanie:
I've heard Tacca integrifolia grows here. Most species like really hot and oppressively humid conditions...like in southern Florida.

What a stunner, I think I am failing with the seeds to this too, only tiny proberbly will be dead when I go and check it, I do know they love a lot of moisture and what a bargain I am trying the white one.
