Front garden

Front garden

No name for the rose, mainly because many many years ago it was rescued from off the side of a dyke which runs in front of the cottage, it has taken ages to get to be this good, mainly because I did not know how to look after roses, but thanks to all GoY'ers have learned a lot.

is it a rosa regosa moyesa geranium? I couldn't see it clearly but have wanted one of these for years.

Oh wow Rose, you are clever, will have a look and see if I can find it on the internet. It is very pretty, trying to train it around to the back of the house now. I have no idea what it is called. Just love it now it has got going so well.

more like Vilchenblau but not as blue/purple more pink with white splashes, have put up another picture with closer view of it you might get a better impression of the colour from that picture, it is a semi double also.

Beautiful front garden Barbara, I absolutely adore Vilchenblau rose, I transplated mine last autumn, it looked very sad afterwards, I have been looking at it every other day wishing for signs of life, then last week, I noticed new shoots, I am so happy...

Great news Michaella! You would have been so sad if you'd lost it! I bet it stays evergreen with you, as it almost did here, but it didn't flower well, so I replaced with Purple Skyliner and it's much better here.

So glad it is recovering Michaella it is a beautiful rose.

Mine has gone really silly this year Karen, there are loads of buds on it, have been tying in shoots and layering them along the post and rail fence, it has done good. will post pictures as soon as it breaks bud. It stayed evergreen here, which was a surprise for me because I had no idea. lol.

it's a real bonus when they keep their leaves, and the foliage always looks lovely and fresh and healthy too. I do prefer my purple skyliner though, because it actually flowers!

Yours used to flower at the other house didn't it? Wonder why it doesn't there. Mine has a lot of buds on it, the roses are just starting to come out on the bush roses, so so looking forward to seeing the new ones, I know they will probably not perform until next season though. They are growing well at the moment though.

It was in a different position though Mum. I need ramblers here on the shady fence. Scott was annoyed when I took it down because it was so lovely and evergreen...but I don't tell him how to fix teeth do I? lol ;)) This year, I should see some development on the purple skyliner. it was slow to get going last year, but this year it looks a lot more promising.
