What a cheery flower - can do with cheering up as the wind is wrecking my garden:-( The colour combination is great, the rich yellow and the pretty strong pink! Just lovely, well done! Esp. with the dry weather.

Thanks Janey ~ Poodle our garden has branches / flowers broken all over the place ,I've never known the wind to have lasted for so long (it feels like weeks ) , I don't like it :o(

Yeah, I know. You wait so long for them to flower. Hope some of them recover for you. My hubby phoned me from our allotment to say that his plum tree, which was bearing fruit for the first time, we had counted 40 or 50 little plums, had lost its main branch, the one with all the lovely growing plums, that he had destined for his first homemade plum gin from his own tree. He found two large composters two allotments down (thank goodness they didn't do any damage there) along with the cloche that had protected his courgettes. And I won't even start with the pop up green house...Suffice it to say, that I spent last night sowing back together a six foot seem with lots and lots of stitches by hand. At least the tomatoes and cucumbers are cosy again:-)

Oh dear ! what a disaster Poodle No Plum Gin ..Lol .. I've never made it with plums we make Sloe gin every year , he will have to go out collecting Sloes in the autumn instead , what a nuisance all the hard work that goes into growing your own , I hope you can get everything back to normal without any more mishaps ..:o)

We planted a sloe hedge between our plot and the neighbour's as we haven't been able to find any out and about. They'll take a couple of years yet to produce. My hubby just about inspected them with a magnifying glass to find flowers this year.;-) I also chanced upon a couple of green gage trees or damsons, not sure, in a quiet street in a council estate. They were on public land so we climbed the tree and took home 8kgs. A lot were just rotting on the ground. Nobody seems to know what's edible nowadays, unless it's wrapped in plastic from Tescos. They were great! Surely there'll be more where they came from:-) So, no probs! Hope, there's no more wind to make a mess of your lovely garden either.

I've noticed that people totally ignore good fruit and veg if it's growing wild , it's because they have never had to use whatever they can to survive like they had to years ago , making stuff to last the winter etc. they have to much given to them today :o(

I know. My dad always took us foraging when we were little for wild mushrooms, berries, herbs and tree leaves for tea, which he dried in the loft. It was fun and we learned to appreciate what nature had to offer. His parents were poor being refugees during WW2 and we didn't have much either, but going out foraging was a lot more exciting than a trip to the local supermarket. Now we follow in his footsteps and my hubby gets so excited about the blueberries that are just about ripe that we've already been in one of the local forests twice to check on their progress;-)
