Ours have not grown much either, we had the lovely Gigas but it only grew the one year ant that was that, yet the common one comes up all over the place.

Thanks everyone:-), no Amy never used it for cooking have you? its the stems you can use isn't it? wouldn't know what to use it for.
Don't know which variety this is DD does seed around a lot so have to watch it and does seem to be perennial, probably is just the common one.

So lovely. The seeds u sent me did well. Planted out now but still small. I think they need some rain. Cant wait for them to look like yours.

Won't take long to get going Dawn once we get some rain, but shouldn't think they'll flower till next year.

Something to look forward to then Kathy. We had a shower today but didnt touch the water butt.

I've never used it like that Kathy I think you have to crystallize it or something .
we had a few drops of rain early evening but not even enough to keep the dust down .....

Same here Dawn and Amy it rained this afternoon for all of 20 minutes, really need some decent rain.

Not enough is it Kathy. I seem to spend most of my day walking around with watering cans, lol. With lots of planting out, the watering has to be done.

Lol I'm just the same Dawn, trouble is you have to water before you can plant the grounds so hard, I've started planting out, thought I'd have loads of spare plants but keep finding places for them all:-)

I'm the same Kathy, will our gardens ever be full??? I've spent 2 solid 8 hour days planting out, taken the risk, nearly the end of May. Off I go with my wheelbarrow full of top soil in the bottom. Still lots of young plants in the small greenhouse, love them all. The Land of the Giants are germinating too. Grew some scotch thistle last year, sent Amy one, gorgeous, read that they self seed so I will be collecting seed later of which I will send some to you. They get to about 10 feet high :-) Just your type of thing.

Now thats really weird Dawn is it Onopordum Arabicum? as grew that years ago, pretty lethal plant but lovely and did get to 8ft even in my heavy clay, collected the seed and forgot about it, being a biennial it died after flowering, found the seed in my seed box and thought I'd see if it'd grow 7 years on and every seed germinated, was just going to e-mail you and see if you wanted some:-)
Didn't self seed here though, probably just as well really huge plants.

Sounds like the same one Kathy. That is weird. Thanks for letting me know its a biennial, I'll try and collect some seed and thanks for thinking of me but looks like I'll have my own now.
