The first bloom on my new rose.

I don't know what Spritz will think Wagger, but I have found her to be little on the spindly side so far. I moved mine last year, so I'm hoping it will be better this year and even better still next, when it has settled in its new position. The flowers are beautiful, though a tad on the small side.

Yes, the flower is small, Karen. I thought it would be bigger! The bush is OK at the moment...not spindly.

That's good to hear. That makes me think mine will be fine in it's new spot.

Don't forget that mine only went in earlier this year when I took the half-dead Cistus out. It still has time to go 'spindly', but I hope it doesn't. :-/

I hope not too. I had a look at mine this am and it is looking a lot healthier already...no buds on it yet that I could see, but it flowered very late last year.....we'll see.

Good - let's hope she stays that way and flowers well. :-)

Yes, indeed. I have two flowers out on winchester cathedral and one opening up on Summer song. It's great when the roses start flowering....summer!

I do agree, but as you know, I'm a bit concerned that some plants are finishing flowering now, at least three weeks early. I'm just hoping that I'll have enough for the visitors to enjoy.

Gosh, imagine that! I still have a daffodil flowering!

NO!!!!???

Yes, Hawerra was still flowering last week, but I wonder if it still is now...I wouldn't be surprised, it's been cold and windy for the past two weeks and things are very very slow to move at the moment.

My plants are getting bashed about so much that if anything survives it will be a miracle. It isn't cold here, luckily. I grew Hawera last year in the gate trough. Nice little flowers. :-)

Yes, I checked and the wind has finished them off. Lovely flowers, I agree! It's been cold, windy and very cloudy here all day.....horrid....I want to move south!!!!!!!!

OK. I'll ask the neighbours to swap houses. Now THAT would be lovely! :-))))
27 May, 2011
:)) It would! Are they great fans of windy, cold and wet weather all year around then? lol ;)

No idea, but 'she' has relatives in Scotland somewhere, so it could work. :-)))))

What are her legs like? Is she well clothed or leggy? She's a smashing colour.
