Yes Drc thats the huge plant with the white flowers next to the rose, 'Crambe Cordifolia', a form of sea Kale, reminds me of a giant gypsophila and has a wonderful scent of honey, love my huge perennials:-)

Lovely! No room for Crambe here I'm afraid, but I do have a nice Cirsium Rivulare just coming into flower. Perennials that don't grow too wide but are nice and tall are good for here.

Its looking as good as ever Simbad..havent planted my Crambe seed yet..not sure I have the room for it...I will wait a while..
21 May, 2011
that looks brilliant again :):)

Yes does need a lot of room Karen, I grew cirsium a few years ago, caught Rob pulling them up he thought they were weeds!!!!!!
Never fails to put on a good show Tetrarch think its been planted here 8 years now, never done anything with it and every year its beautiful :-))
Thankyou Paul another of those must have huge perennials:-)

Good grief, my Johnson's Blue has been in full flower for a couple of weeks, and my Pat Austin and my Lady Hillingdon and my peonies are near the end..dont know about July, but I could be finished in June!!
21 May, 2011

Thankyou Janey:-)
Mine too Tetrarch, my Pat Austins not in flower yet though and my couple of peonies are just about to open, if they survive the wind thats been forecast:-(,spent yesterday morning up a ladder making sure my climbing roses are secure if its windy its even worse here, scratches all over my arms, daughter said you did that for a plant!!!!
Thankyou Homebird:-)

Martyrs to the cause of lovely gardens lol! Could think of worse!!!

Well done Simbad! You can rest easy in your bed tonight when the gales are howling. Think of me at 9am driving to Aberdeen airport.....flight could be cancelled, if it isn't chances are turbulence will be bad and I will be ill! :S
22 May, 2011
I will Karen, wouldn't want to be going up in a plane in the wind, hate turbulence, going anywhere nice?
22 May, 2011
Off to Chelsea flower show on Tuesday. Going to see 'Flare Path' on Monday evening.
22 May, 2011
Kathy: My few day lilies are in bud :-)
Hope your scratches get better soon. So windy here today too.
Enjoy Chelsea Karen.
22 May, 2011

Looking forward to your pics Karen. I have watched it on TV each evening, been looking out for you but sadly didnt spot you.
26 May, 2011
WOW!! How did I miss this picture, just beautiful!
26 May, 2011
DA, I made the daft mistake of standing behind the crew, and then tonight I thought....oh that's right the crew aren't usually in the shot are they!.....thick or what!
Oops, sorry Simbad, I've hijacked your photo for my silliness.....Michaella is right, it's beautiful! :))
26 May, 2011
Lol, glad you had a good time Karen, would love to go to Chelsea.
I had my first daylily flower today Dawn didn't open fully but they're on their way:-)
Thankyou Michaella:-)

Must be summer in Lincs then Simbad, it's definitely winter here again! :(
26 May, 2011
We've had rain today at last(never thought I'd get excited by rain!!!!!!!) , bit chilly tonight though even got the fire on, Fudge is cooking nicely beside it as I type, I can hear him snoring, lol.
26 May, 2011
Sounds lovely! My garden is very wet again, so algae growing nicely on my newly laid lawn seed, which shows no sign of germinating due to the cool weather.....we will hopefully get some sun today at some point, but the grass is far too wet to cut! It's a different country kathy, that's a certainty. Independence or not, this is a foreign land!!
27 May, 2011
Karen, thats why I didnt see you on TV then, lol. Sorry to hear you're having so much rain again and cool conditions :(
Kathy, brill news that the day lilies are starting to flower :)
27 May, 2011
I should have steered clear of the Pimms DA!
27 May, 2011
Lol Karen, nahhhh, you were there to enjoy yourself. If I'd been there, I would have joined you for one. x
29 May, 2011
:)) Next time I'll take you up on that!
