Chives at the front (I've been using the flowers in vases with Alchemilla) Mange Tout in the bed behind, with various salad seedlings. The border at the back has two rhubarb plants in (just planted this spring) and lots of alpine strawberries, spinach, rocket, borage and beetroots. It's all beginning to grow a little now.

It's so exciting, free salad!
All we need here is a cow or goat (or both!) to make some cheese!!

Thanks Janey. The bark chippings here tend to stay put, it's too close to the house for the birds to play in!

Not sure if we can even do that in this home Karen! Would be good though, make our own cheese, grow our own veg...etc,etc!

I heard you need min. of an acre Lulu. I don't really want goats or a cow, or a pig either. All I want is three pretty good laying hens!

Making cheese...not sure if I would ever really have the time, just a pipe dream!
We used to have chickens at the stud, 18 of them and a cockeral, apart from the foxes........the rats meant they had to go. I am so tempted to have a few chooks again though, I really miss them.

Yes, I already had a nice spinach salad. I do love raw spinach, and I detest it cooked!
