Thanks Cinders and Bill, we built the wall out of old paving slabs, took us some time but its not too bad.

The plants are lovely of course but the gate intrigues me, what is beyond it.

Daisyco, It used to be allotments, then the council decided to make it into a childrens play area. Of course new rulings came in and the surface was deemed dangerous to children (compacted soil) so the swings and climbing frames were removed. It was then left for the grass to grow which the council mows every so often and a 12ft wide border is left for nettles and brambles etc to encourage wild life. There is a right of way for people to walk through and exercise their dogs.
I think the allotment idea was abandond because there are natural springs underneath and the area can become very boggy.
