Allamanda schottii (Allamanda schottii)

Taken today at the botanic gardens on Oxford.
The "Bush Allamanda" has smaller flowers than A.cathartica (the rather prolific vine Allamanda).

I like this shrub! It's a little hardier than A. cathartica and blooms longer here in San Diego. It usually doesn't get much taller than 3ft/1m tall.

Grown indoors here it's eight or nine feet tall - as it's in the passageway it can't be allowed to bush out though.

Wow! 8 or 9 feet that's very tall. It probably grows that tall in Miami, Florida or in Hawai'i. I think only Allamanda neriifolia can maybe grow about that tall here.

I guess that it may be battling for light with all the other plants in this passageway Delonix!

Meanie:

Yes, plants in lower light levels situations will stretch to reach the light.
