I can't comprehend this tree being killed or even damaged by cold weather.

they dont like having snow on them for days on end...they look soo sad when all their leaves flop down...i do feel so lucky that mine survived..;-)

I'm surprised it does survive snow at all. I know it's hardy to very cold temps, though. It grows in the foothills of the Sierra Mountain Range here in CA.

we only had a very light covering this winter...thank goodness....
