Duranta erecta - Skyberry, Pigeon Berry

This shrub was growing in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. This is such a widely grown shrub or tree here. There's several varieties which grow here. Photo taken June 11, 2011.

LOL! :>) Yes, pigeons are such a problem here along with the millions of doves. The doves are more of a problem here (where I live) than that pigeons. Downtown and other areas the pigeons are a bigger problem.

Biggest problem with doves is that you can't get a decent meal out of them- that's the one plus point of pigeons!

It's also called Golden Dewdrop, because it develops many golden-colored berries.

Pigeon berry seems like a bit of a slur really when you consider that the slang name for pigeons is "flying rats"!
