Rosa 'White Carpet'

Now I know you will laugh, BUT I have just been and ordered some roses from Crocus, Hot Chocolate, Silver Anniversary LOL LOL LOL (White) am giving it a go! and Special Anniversary, hoping they are all perfumed they had better be! especially the white one. lol.

yes it did say they were perfumed, but I have bought roses before which say perfumed and they are not, you never know some peoples noses are better at detecting perfume than others, I have a new one a red one which I can smell but Sue said last night she cannot smell it. Funny isn't it, Veilchenblau seems more perfumed this year, but only very lightly, it is strange that. I have Albertine which is supposedly perfumed but I am disappointed it doesn't smell for me. I was wondering the other day if the soil they grow in makes a difference to how they are perfumed. Because Albertine is also supposed to be a good fragrance

I have this on my slope, it's a lovely rose and doing better this year now some of the competition has gone.

yes, the pink buds make it very special. Mum, I find that too! I think the warmth of the air also makes a huge difference to how much you can smell them! I find I don't really smell the 'tea' scented ones very well.
