Nope! I really don't have a clue what it is! I wonder if it might be some kind of a Viburnum....hopefully someone else will recognise it for us! :))

Saw two tall ones (ca 2.5m) on a roadside today with darker pink flowers. If all else fails I'll try and take cuttings. But likely there'll be someone that is in the know:-)

Ah, now, I think it might be a Spirea...still investigating!

I thought at first it was a Spirea Billiard? But the leaves are quite broad?

So sorry, Karensusan, was working (and thus enjoying other people's gardens). Thank you so much for all your research! Checked out the website. Spirea definitely rings a bell. I bought 4 shrubs all at once and stuck them in at the time, and more or less forgot about them. I was ever so pleased when this one grew quite fast and had those lovely cones with delicate flowers. (I kept looking out for the Forsythia which I had bought at the same time and planted in my garden and was very surprised to find it flowering in my allotment, which I didn't have at that time. Sometimes a memory would come in handy;-))
Thank you Drc as well. I saw two wild ones with darker pink flowers at the roadside yesterday, as the webpage suggests. Checked my one this morning to find a suitable branch for a cutting and was rather dismayed to find a small amount of the reddish-brown version of greenfly on it.

Yuck! I just saw your shrub on one of my neighbours' front garden! Nice, but Spiraea are not for me..I don't like the way they fade....all the flowers go brown......pretty in full bloom, but not afterwards.

You would not like my garden then Karen I have 7 and love everyone and they dont all flower at the same time

Yeah, shame they have to fade at all. Mine is in between hydrangeas, so when it stops flowering they take over and their faded flowers are hardly noticable. But hydrangeas often go the same way. I just enjoy them while I can. You just have to go past your neighbour's when they are flowering - when they stop you'll have to look the other way from now;-)
