That's a big flower! You keep it so weedfree! Does it hate competition?

Thankyou its gorgeous isn't it quite a sight yesterday 3 flowers opened together, bought this from Botanicalady whos a member on here she has a fab daylily site called theflowerbower, daylilies to die for, lol.
No weeds allowed on the daylily bed 1poodle11, can't say that about the rest of the garden, lol.

Will have a look at the site. Don't want to see my allotment after the rain. I hope I'll be able to locate my plants in between the weeds;-)

Thanks Tetrarch :-)
Know what you mean 1poodle11 my hubby has an allotment, I'm not allowed to plant anything on it lol, he's been too busy with work this year to do much on it I went down to look for strawberries, couldn't find them at first but because of all the weeds the birds hadn't seen them and got a huge dish full, so weeds can be useful :-))

I finally went to my allotment today and almost died of shock. "Dug out" the beans; just as well the teepees indicated where they were. My hubby swears it wasn't as bad when he was there a few days ago. Everything was fairly weedfree last time I was there. On a positive note we had some very sweet strawberries too, and sweet peas, lettuce and a few berries. Had a look at the two sites you recommended and am absolutely blown away. I've asked a few people, even gardeners with a bit of experience, and no one has heard of a Daylily. All the more reason to start a trend, I think;-)

I got a few courgettes today, thought I'd better pick them or they'll be marrows in no time, very nice too we had some for tea, a very cheeky baby robin, stood right next to me eating my raspberries, lol.
Yes we need a few more daylily addicts 1poodle11 :-),glad you enjoyed the sites, so many lovely ones aren't there, I just want them all, lol.
Whenever I mention daylilies people think I'm talking about dahlias!!!!! we need to spread the word on these gorgeous plants :-))

Absolutely! I had to say it a few times, and with me being German people think I've mispronounced it. But I was happy to find it in the July issue of Country Living (page 33), explaining that "hemera" stands for day and "kallos" for beauty, which is very apt indeed! Our biggest courgettes are the size of half of my little finger, so it's salad for tea for now;o) I think I shall be watching Gardener's world from a month ago on iplayer to match the progress of the garden so far. Lovely to enjoy what you've grown yourself, though. So fresh and a completely different experience from eating shop bought ones.

I didn't know thats what it stood for 1poodle11,you'd think I would wouldn't you:-), very true.
I can't wait for the sweetcorn, grew it for the first time a couple of years ago and couldn't believe the difference from shop bought, so sweet, our allotments just at the bottom of the garden, so put the pan of water on nip down and can be eating in less than 10 mins, my mouths watering thinking about it :-))

So dramatic......

There's nothing like it. We used to pick it off the fields as it is grown on big fields in Germany, until my parents told me it's stealing.
