Fab! I bought 3 of Tahoma Moonshot from Sarah Raven, but only one grew. I got a full refund, and I have one good plant, so a good deal in the end. No flowers yet, but I am eagerly awaiting my first! Same as this in shape, but more purple on the outside.

Yes I looked at that one and never did buy it, found these at Silica Lodge. It is lovely. Bit like Honka in shape (I lost Honka to the cold)

I have three honka in pots, I was very good, I nipped out all the first buds to get bigger plants. I like Dahlias in the late summer, when most things are finishing off.

I love these different ones, with the spikey petals, not too keen on the pom pom varieties, unless they are planted in rows in a field, which for many years was the case on a lane side at Blyton they looked amazing, all the different colours and shapes, never did take a picture of them, wish I had. they are no longer there.

I am same. Love the orchid ones.....detest the button and round ones...love the spider ones too...especially the green ones. Look fantastic in a boquet. Must get some!

Not a dahlia fan myself, but do like this one

Grannyb I am not a great fan of them either but because they flower later on in the year I like to see them, they help with colour when not much else is still in flower. I like these spikey ones more than the pom pom types and the ones with the big heads, the colours of dahlias amaze me though, they are such bright and cheerful colours. I have not had much success with keeping them so thought I would try them in pots/large tubs and see if I can keep them away from the frost and manage to grow them for another year. I did have a lovely yellow one in the border called Honka, very similar sort of petal formation as this but pure yellow but the bad winters got it. Might try that again in a tub because I did like it. thanks for your comment.

Michaella it is different isn't it? It has only tiny flowers on this plant but I wonder if that is because it is a new tuber this year. Hopefully I shall manage to keep it. I do like this one, very pretty colour.
