Our Little Pond

Situated just outside of the Garden doors. A little space used on the Patio...I was just standing watching the fish Two in all, and took a shot of them. Yesterday I repotted the Houttynia, it had more than outgrown it's Pot, but what an awful smell that plant has.. Enjoy the Fish...

That Houttynia is very eye-catching, even if it does whiff a bit.

I just caught the fish as they appeared Drc...they are both quite big, and when we bought them, I chose one cos he had a black bottom lip like our Elkie, and the other for a white head and shoulders. they look small on camera...

Frybo, that houttynia more than whiffs a bit especially when you're stood over it for a while... :o))

I'd like to try Sempervivums in the rocks, as we've not really any planting space...hopefully they'll take ok amongst the rocks and pebbles...

Thanks everyone...

Hi Pixi...I don't think our piggy's been noticed, we've had him years, and he's travelled from UK with us...He used to stand outside of two front doors, and my Mum used to rub his head and say morning, a habit that's stuck...
I bought him at the I.O.W County fair one year, because his orange glass eyes, just appear to be watching...

Lovely little waterhole. Bet you get all kind of critters around it. Sempervivums will look great. There R so many. Go 4 it.

Thanks everyone, thanks Adoons...Just last week we had a visit twice from a Dragon fly, such delicate beautiful creatures...but we had the pond netted to keep the cats off...have taken the net off now hoping she will return...
The only others critters we get Adoons are Elkie and Sweetie, that like to drink from the fountain...
I agree I think Sempervivums would be the ideal...

I love dragonflies as well, they have such an amazing life cycle, google it. Worth the search.
Ponds are such a bonus. Enjoy.

I will do that Adoons...thanks...

Yes Pixi....just plain and simple 'Pig' :))

There's an updated photo of our little Pond, we did a slight revamp, added more Rocks, and Sempervivums, resited the Dolphin, so our Elki can't get to the water so easily and moved the Houttynia to the centre...

edit to say...there is fresh bowl of water outside for the cats at all times, but they would rather drink fish flavoured water lol....
