White Admiral Butterfly

My favourite butterfly is the Red Admiral. I shall have to have this alongside it. It's gorgeous!

My pleasure ladies... it was the oddest thing...I walked out my front door on the day we took Mandy to the vet, and one of these butterflies was flitting around and followed me across the yard to the car...after the ordeal we left the vet's office (in Renfrew, 60 kms from home) and there was a white admiral on the steps! it flew up to me and then flew off...what an experience. Then there weren't many around because of the rainy weather...but yesterday I found one in the backyard and it flitted around me and settled on the grass/weeds of the path...I ran in to get my camera thinking it would surely be gone when I returned, but it was still there...and it sat quite motionless while I took the pictures...I said to it...Got it! you can go now!...and up it flew...straight up and out of sight! It gave me goose bumps...

WOW! What an amazing experience! That's wonderful!! Some people would say it was very spooky too...I don't know about that, but I would definitely see it as a blessing! Thanks for sharing that story!

I had to relate it...just to see how it sounded. It's easy to read into coincidences certain aspects which really don't apply...but it was a wonderful experience and I appreciate the reality of it as well as my need to maintain contact with someone I had lost. It's sad really, but it made me feel good somehow.

Did you ever hear Gloria Hunniford speaking about Karen and the white feather? Similar thing...white feathers appearing in the strangest places. It really helps her to keep 'contact' with her lovely daughter.

When my next-door neighbour died there was a little group of White doves that circled their garden and then flew off. I cant explain these things but I think we take from them something good.

That's how I've come to feel about it too, Sticki. A gentle reminder ...or a good omen. Kind of an "amen" to your grief.

Funny how wings are involved! Bit like nature's angels looking after you, just to say you are Moro your own, bit like GoY - none of us are on our own now.

That's true, Sticki. I've looked for gardening groups closer to home...but I've found that I really don't care for them. GoY has so many great people with lovely gardens and great ideas to share...we are (if I can include myself in this generalization) a kind and understanding as well as knowledgeable bunch of garden lovers. The soil under our fingernails is a badge of honour. lol...
