Lovely Meanie:-), thought I'd lost mine came to repot them in spring and something had been eating the tubers only 3 tiny bits left, but would you believe they've got going and around 4ft tall, no flowers yet though.

That's one of the reasons that I like to repot them rather than leave them undisturbed Simbad. Great plant though - reliable doubles the number of tubers every year.

Is this one you would keep in a greenhouse?

Ah, thank you, I knew I had seen it before. Doesn't sound impossible but the height could be a problem, I would have to try the Rothschild one as it's a bit smaller. I have one room that has lots of windows but not facing the sun - do you think that would be ok?

Don't see why not.
Sue has G.rothschildiana which was planted at least two months ago in a pot outside, and that finally came through at the weekend.

Meanie:
Wow! It looks great! I have had such bad luck with this plant in the past. It doesn't grow very well in my garden.
I know this plant can be left outside all year...even though they die down in winter.

To be honest Delonix, it's not at its best this year. I pushed the boat out in terms of how early I could put it out, and it took a beating in some strong winds too. Plenty of blooms, but they're on quite short stems which doesn't show them off so well.

I had one once that grew to about 8ft/2.3m tall and had about 6 blooms on it....this was until the bugs ate all the poisonous roots. It obviously wasn't poisonous to the bugs. lol! :>)
I have major problems with tuberous type plants like: Alocasia, Colocasia and Xanthosoma. Some type of bug seems to eat them, quickly!

Only the six blooms!!!!!
This could be one to me!

Meanie:
It only happened once. I grew it along a cyclone fence...and it looked so good for a little while.
The one I grew had much brighter red flowers than yours posted. Is it because this flower is still immature?
