It's also a good place to put your drink when pottering Dotty. The border is not really wide enough for a full seat so this is ok, I am going to buy the matching pot to put on there in the winter.

They had a selection of lovely things to put on top including greek style ladies carrying urns......all too skinny though!

This looks good & all the comments have made me smile. I have a square column (bought over from England when I came back to live in NZ), & I keep putting things on top of it, & then taking them off again. At the moment it has a brown glazed casserole dish full of water for the birds to drink from after they have been greedily gobbling up the seed on the birdtable in the tree nearby .... but a new birdbath is being picked up tomorrow, so once again my square column will be naked! Sigh ......

I still haven't bought a pot or ice bucket for it ;o)
