Just the way I love to see them in their natural habitat...

Milky, they're cheeky too!
Crissue, we do consider ourselves lucky to be able to see them like this.

It is such a beautiful bird Bernieh and you have captured it perfectly.

Thanks Camilla. Luckily this one was fairly still for a while, just long enough to get a photo taken.

Seems as if he wanted to get photographed by you.

These are so pretty! I've seen these parrots at the San Diego Zoo. They located in the huge bird aviaries.

Camillia, these birds don't seem to be bothered by humans at all. This one seemed to be interested in what I was doing and kept looking around to see.
Andy, we get flocks of them here all the time. You can't miss their arrival. The noise they make is quite loud and raucous.

Bernieh:
I'm very familiar with the very loud noise of parrots. We have lot of feral non-native parrots in San Diego. There's a huge flock that flies over the house every day. They sometimes stop in the the giant Norfolk Island tree, Jacaranda tree or in my neighbor's very tall San Jose Hesper (Brahea brandegeei) palm.
Here's a photo of a few parrots in my neighbor's San Jose Hesper palm. There was actually dozens in the flock.

A lovely sight! They blend in brilliantly with the green palm fronds, but of course their noise would give away their presence.

Oh yes, the noise cannot be missed! :)
These and other parrot species have been really causing lots of problems especially at the local beach communities. They make so much noise many people have been complaining to the city. I don't think the city has done anything about the parrots, though. The parrots have been here so long they are almost like natives.

I can understand people complaining about the noise. They really do make quite a din when they're together. But I'm left wondering what on earth the city would do about it.

Bernieh:
I guessing the parrot could be captured...however, this would be very expensive and there's so, so many. With the city's major budget restraints these days...I can only imagine nothing will be done.
