As with a lot of bird species, it's the male that seems to be the most colourful! This one's blue bib is just stunning.

wow.. stunning.. And here is me fascinated at our house martins who have nested above my sons bedroom window (3 in total).. their babies cheeping away.. been there a month now and i see mum n daddy busy back and forth.. bless...
I did get a little overprotected tho as their nests started being attacked by swifts and i felt i wanted to help but obviously cant :-D
My neighbours must think im mad.. talking to our butterflies we raised (let go now) my sweetpeas and now the birds hahahahaha
You are so lucky Berneih x

Don't worry, Smilerjane. You're not alone in talking to plants, butterflies or birds. I talk to the wallabies here all the time, especially the joeys. There's one particular Kookaburra that comes in and sits on the verandah railing and we have a great chat. He seems to enjoy the conversation!
Yes we are lucky. Being surrounded by bushland here, out in a rural-type outlying suburb means that we get to see a lot of wildlife.
