Trumpets

Saw one like this in someone's garden full of those little fire red trumpets and had to have it. They said it grew fairly slowly, but I found mine has grown rather quickly and I had to prune it a bit.

Thank you Meanie, how did you guess I was stuck for the name (again!!!)? Thank you very much! I'll promise to remember it this time. I love it too. Its lovely bright trumpets make up for the spiny leaves and I like that it's evergreen. Thank you Terratoonie, it's a happy sort of shrub/tree:-)

Desfontainia spinosa - there was one in the Jungle at Heligan Gardens in full bloom a few weeks ago. A stunning plant!
