I really like some of the smaller hemlock varieties. Some of them are kind of odd but this is a nice little one

It's one of the more popular varieties over here although this was the first year I have seen it for sale. Gentsch White is a nice one, I also like 'Summer Snow'. There are some beautiful varieties and even the species is one of my favorite conifers.

Hi Rk...sorry about the doubling up on comments, i thought I had lost it, so rewrote...hence the slightly different posts...
I spent a good while searching on line for the right one. Shipping was one problem, and not being available was the other...so I eventually chose Tsuga Canadensis Jeddeloh, with a very slow growth, and very striking i thought..it will fill the space under our young Magnolia Susan...and grow around it...The magnolia stands in a bed of evergreen shrubs, and we're keeping it as a standard...Heathers are another of my favourites, and I was able to order a couple of beauties... :))
The company is in Holland, so not too far from France...
There is a photo of the shrub bed on my pics which will give you an idea of what I mean...thanks for sharing the info on the conifers...and i'll keep looking for Gentsch White, and Summer Snow - I haven't seen yet....
