Hazard in Bristol Gardens..

Gerry and I went up in a hot air balloon four years ago. I am scared of heights but this overcame the fear. It was great and I'd do it again. You can see so much from up there and you float along with the wind. You can hear every little sound from below. We went first thing in the morning and had to get up very early to reach our destination where the take off was.

thanx linda..know exactly what you mean - had a flight bout 20years ago, evening not morning like yours tho!
didn't you find getting into the basket a problem?
and I remember the fairly rough landing in a ploughed field... hadn't been told what my 'surprise' b/day present was, so the high heels I had on had to be taken for repairs to scratches on the heels! lol!! (had an idea my now-ex husband was after the insurance money!!)
glad it helped your fear of heights, don't know why, but you do feel safe up there!!

We had a very soft landing in a field Jeanette, and we helped to roll the balloon up afterwards. Also found that the basket climbing wasn't too bad because in the past I've been horseriding so have been used to getting up high into the stirrups. The flight was cancelled about 6 times because of high winds and bad weather, but the morning we went up on was a beautiful morning. We ascended to 1750 feet. and you can see a lot from up there too.

fab memories then!! (and much less bumpy than mine!!)
