Middle border

Middle border

I sat under the brolly in the shade and thought what a lovely picture to snap. Anyone for coffee? I had one sat there. I was in the chair at the other side of the photograph. It was a lovely cool spot

Oh yes - put the kettle on! What a beautiful border. :-))

Thank you Drc, Thank you Michaella, Muddy you make me laugh thank you for your comments. Thank you everyone, it is a lovely place to sit only put the chairs up there a few days ago. Waiting to get delivery of a bench to go in the place where they came from. Some of these firms are a bit slow on delivering the goods, they take the money quick enough but take ages to send the goods. lol. or am I being impatient! suppose I am.

Is it raised in parts Oliveoil?

A beautiful border Olive

I agree....

No it is a flat border Drc, well I suppose it is lumpy bumpy but on the whole quite flat - it is the flowers which give it the height. That was one of the problems (if you can call it a problem) I had to try and get a border with height in it because the garden is flat, there is a slight slope from the drive way down to the cottage but that is all.

Thank you Annella and Motti, still some gaps which need to fill in before I can say I am totally happy with it, I keep adding bits each year to it and hoping that the rabbit keeps out. lol.

Thanks Olive

Thank you Constance, it is nice in a morning when the magnolia shades the sun from my head, like to sit and have a coffee there.

14 Jul, 2011

What a fantastic display, everything in full swing, bet you're pleased...

14 Jul, 2011

It is gorgeous :)

Yes I am Crissue, it is lovely.

Thanks Scottish it is certainly pretty.

It's just lovely. I can just imagine the peace and quiet as you sit there in the sunshine! Did you see 'love your garden' last night? It was 'your' kind of garden...I loved it....they make a seating area using an overhead sail and a post and some lovely gravel and lavender.....lovely!

16 Jul, 2011

I enjoyed the programme too...Did you see the Chocolate Lavenders...all those calories...The Garden was nice...The sail idea is very good, but the noise can be a pain, when the wind gets under them...Our neighbour has a similar set up, and its very noisy...looks effective tho...

16 Jul, 2011

Yes, the wind would be a problem here Crissue. I thought about putting up my huge parasol in a stand like they showed, but it would be blown right over the fence in 5 minutes...like something off Mary Poppins!! lol....maybe get it out for a couple of days in the summer...;)....whenever that arrives!!

16 Jul, 2011

That happened to our big Parasol..The wind took it and bent the metal post...and not to be satisfied with that, it threw two of my hanging baskets, that were on the table ready for watering, up the garden as well...breaking all the plants... :((

16 Jul, 2011

Grooooooan Crissue :((((((

My brolly does that, disappears up the garden if I forget to wind it down. Just been for a walk around, the rain has done good, stopped now, sun trying to come through the clouds but think that will not be today.

16 Jul, 2011

We've had hardly any rain today, just loads overnight and this morning it was absolutely pelting down, but nothing since about 11.30. Garden is sodden AGAIN!! Funny really because last night I was thinking it was getting a bit dry at the top and now its flooded again at the bottom!

16 Jul, 2011

Got it wrong again, the sun is shining it is gorgeous out there now, rain was supposed to come overnight for us too but it didn't arrive until after breakfast. It has gone when they said it would but supposed to be some more tomorrow. Not bothered no cricket tomorrow. lol

16 Jul, 2011

Oh no! the sun has gone again and it is coming over all black clouds again. It was just kidding me along. Ah well it will do good.

16 Jul, 2011

We've had some steady real stuff Barbara, and I even put off going to the GC, couldn't be bothered to get wet lol...We do need this rain tho...so do the farmers poor things....

16 Jul, 2011

I know Paul has lots of farmer friends and they are all complaining, crops are suffering really badly around us in Lincolnshire. :o(

16 Jul, 2011

16 Jul, 2011

16 Jul, 2011

20 Jul, 2011

Barbara did you see Country ways the other evening I think Monday...about Lincolnshire, and the sausages, and the reintroduction of curly haired pigs, they are so cute...I do like that program...

21 Jul, 2011

No Crissue I missed that, I tend not to watch tv at this time of year, busy outside or doing gardening etc. I like pigs, they are cute. Like to watch Countryfile on a Sunday evening if I am not at a cricket match. thanks for letting me know, is it on every Monday?

21 Jul, 2011

Just watched it on the i.player Crissue, my mouth is watering lol. I love my food, I like pigeon and mushroom pie used to cook it years ago not had it for ages. It was a recipe that Jackie Charlton (footballer) made on tv many years ago. I enjoyed that and that recipe with peas and sauce today made me think I shall have to get o h to go out and get me some pigeons. Plenty about in our wood. lol thank you for letting me know, could eat some of that butter too, it looked amazing. :o)

21 Jul, 2011

The Butter did look delish...I love my food too...but have to watch it tho...:(( aren't those Pigs cute, like sheep really aren't they!!

21 Jul, 2011

Never seen that breed before Crissue, they were great loved the little pigs, really lovely.

21 Jul, 2011

Apparently they used to be there in that part of the County before, but died out...they are outside pigs they don't like being inside so no good for Factory Farming...now they've reinstated them...I liked them a lot...

21 Jul, 2011

:o)

21 Jul, 2011
